Bible-Reading Retreat, August 26-28

Set aside the weekend of August 26-28 for an extended time reading God’s Word aloud . . . together!

The Basics:

We’ll meet at my house in suburban Chicago for a weekend in God’s Word—Ruth, 1/2 Samuel, some Psalms, Proverbs, Mark, Romans, and more! You’ll enjoy the fellowship of other women and a time of quiet away from the noise of the world. No stress, no cooking, no obligations, just time with the Lord and others who love Him.

Lodging:

We are currently increasing the lodging capacity of our house. :) Right now, though, I’m planning on out-of-town guests staying here in proper beds with at least some locals commuting. This is not the best option, but it’s what I’ve got right now. Locals . . . if you’re young enough to be able to survive a night on an air mattress, you’re welcome to stay here, too. We could sleep an army on air mattresses, but I don’t want to subject actual adult people to that! College kids bounce back fine from an air mattress night, but those of us who are 39 . . . well, you know.

The Number:

Fifteen.

We’ll read in small groups of five people per group and switch up groups throughout the weekend.

The Cost:

$100 will help us to cover costs. If you don’t have the means right now, reach out to me and we’ll work something out.

If God lays it on your heart to come, please let me know that you are coming. If you’re in a place where you can help cover someone else’s cost and God prompts you to do that, let me know and I’ll send another link where you can make a tax-deductible donation toward the ministry.

The Next Step:

Send me an email and let me know that you’re coming and if you have any food allergies. We’re still figuring out the best way to collect payments, so if you’re in, just let me know as I am inviting people individually and not casting a wide net.

While this is by invitation only, please reach out to me if there is someone you would like to invite to join us.

Your simple “Yes” holds your place, a “No” from you and I will extend that invite to another. Email me at pamgillaspie@gmail.com to respond or with any questions.
