Bible-Reading Retreat, August 18–20: Final Details
I hope you’re as eager as I am to get into the Word together this weekend! Here are some final details as you’re getting your ducks in a row!
What to Bring:
Bring your favorite Bible, comfortable clothes, and anything else you need for a weekend away.
We have the beds, pillows, blankets, towels, reading glasses, notebooks, and even the 135-pound “therapy dog”! ;)
What I Need to Know:
• Do you have any food allergies? (This is my double-check. I know you answered on the initial registration.)
• What are your snack favorites?
Please put these in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
What You Need to Know:
The Rocking Chair: If you think you’ve broken something, you almost certainly haven’t! We have several “pre-existing conditions” throughout the house. The most notable of these is an antique chair in the living room that has an arm that always comes off. We should probably glue it, but haven’t. If you pick that seat, know that it’s not you, it’s the chair! :)
The Dog: The dog is a big baby, but she is a BIG baby. She is not at all food driven, but she sees dinner time as an opportunity to make friends and use your arm to give herself a hug. Here is her signature move so you won’t be surprised:
A Review of the Basics:
We’ll meet at my house in suburban Chicago for a weekend in God’s Word (address in the email)—Luke, Acts, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Corinthians, and part of the Psalms! You’ll enjoy the fellowship of other women and a time of quiet away from the noise of the world. No stress, no cooking, no obligations, just time with the Lord and others who love Him.
